Publish with Us?

Pearson is the world’s leading provider of print, multimedia and online educational resources. New Zealand authors have access to local and international expertise in editorial, sales, marketing, customer service and distribution across all disciplines, and in all educational markets.

What Do We Publish?

Pearson publishes for diverse educational markets:

  • Higher Education
The Higher Education division publishes and distributes texts and resources for the undergraduate university and polytechnic sectors. We publish across all key humanities, social science, science and business disciplines as well as in the vocational areas. Our extensive range of resources are published under the imprints of Addison Wesley, Allyn & Bacon, Benjamin Cummings, Longman, Hospitality Press and Prentice Hall.
  • Schools
Our Schools division publishes for primary, secondary and English language schools under the Longman imprint.

Both divisions include publishing, editorial, sales and marketing professionals, all committed to helping people learn.

The strength and quality of our local list is evident in the number of titles we publish across all our divisions. The tertiary division publishes many market-leading New Zealand texts such Inkson and Kolb: Management, a New Zealand Perspective, Hubbard, Thomas and Varnham: Principles of Law for New Zealand Business Students, Rudman: Human Resource Management in New Zealand, and McLennan, Ryan and Spoonley: Exploring Society. The Schools division publishes the widely-used works of authors such as David Barton, Meg Bayley, Terry Locke, Roger Childs, Geoff Evans and Anne Wignall.

Some New Zealand titles have achieved international success, with exports to Australia, the USA, Canada, Britain, Europe, and Asia. Several New Zealand titles have been successfully adapted for the Australian market.

Making Contact

Pearson publishers specialise in different markets and subject areas. Your proposal should be submitted to the relevant publisher for assessment. If your proposal is accepted, your publisher will be your main contact throughout the time you are working on your project and once it has been published.

Sales and Marketing

Your publisher will work with the sales and marketing teams to develop a strategic positioning campaign for your product that includes promotion through sales calling, conferences, direct mail and bookshops.

From traditional print media and special publishing to fully integrated multi-media technology products, Pearson has the commitment, resources and structures to help your product achieve its maximum potential.

Custom Publishing/SprintPrints

Print-on-Demand capabilities mean that it is now possible to publish books, using pre-existing copyrighted content, in numbers as low as 100 copies.

If you are looking to write your own instructional materials, build a textbook from our library of copyrighted content, reorganise your existing text, or do all of the above, we can discuss possibilities. Custom publishing or SprintPrints provide the flexibility you need for short courses, courses with highly specific requirements or smaller student numbers.
