Teaching Maths at Levels 1 to 4

Workshop Sessions
  • Teaching Maths at Levels 1 - 2 will focus on the importance of a sound knowledge base: Basic Facts, Sequencing and Place Value and the importance of the other strands.
  • Teaching Maths at Levels 2 – 3 will focus on the importance of understanding and using place value (additive and early multiplicative strategies) and learning multiplication facts and how this impacts on the other strands.
  • Teaching Maths at Levels 3 – 4 will focus on developing multiplicative ideas, making sense of fractions and decimals and tying it all together with the other strands to be numerate.
