Assess your students' strategic thinking in Maths!
The Pearson Mathematics Assessment Tool is for teachers of Levels 1 to 4 Mathematics in the New Zealand Curriculum.
It uses carefully designed and sequenced questions to tease out and record each student's level of understanding in maths. It assesses students' ability to use mathematical knowledge and strategies to solve problems.
Record and analyse results in your own school's database! Data from the easy to administer test interviews are entered into the school's database on the pearsonmathematics.co.nz website (access to the website is available on a subscription basis). The database allows teachers to accurately follow and record the progress of individual students, groups of students and the whole class or school. Data can be further sorted by gender and/or ethnicity providing reports for other stakeholders.
The CD contains:
- Printable full-colour versions of the appendices in the book, including a version of the questions laid out for printing and binding as an A5 booklet
- a spreadsheet master for uploading data to the pearsonmathematics.co.nz website
- tables showing how each of the Pearson Mathematics books align with the Figure it Out resources
- an entertaining instructional video showing the assessment questions being used with two students working at different levels.
