Test development

In today's world, the development of reliable test instruments is critical. We have substantial experience in test design from defining test objectives and the required measurements, through to the test media and analysis required.

In Abu Dhabi, we design tests for grades 3 to 12 and in Arabic, English, Mathematics, and Science. In the US, we design and deliver the SAT tests for most of the US States both on paper and onscreen. In the UK, we develop the national curriculum tests for English and Mathematics.

We employ over 200 psychometricians and hundreds of item writers worldwide to develop items that reliably meet the rigours of test writing. Our experts ensure that test items encourage learners to accurately show their abilities in curriculum-based tests that are constructed to reliably assess all the learners within a cohort.

 

Test delivery

World-wide, we are involved in more aspects of test delivery than any other company. Our teams manage all aspects of delivery, from producing the tests on paper or onscreen; managing learner registrations;organising distribution; running invigilation; marking, collecting and collating results; and reporting to students, teachers and parents alike. Our solid reputation is founded on speed, security, accuracy, reliability, and the transparency of our test management services.

Our credentials and capabilities are first rate. We manage the administration of the national curriculum tests on behalf of the UK Government for over 24,000 schools with 1.2 million learners and involving over 11,000 scorers. We manage the administration of tests for over half the USA State-wide testing programmes and administer the NEAP programme nationally. And we manage the administration of tests in 75% of the States in Australia administering over a million assessments each year. We also administer academic and vocational qualifications through over 4.4 million tests internationally and over 650 different examination subjects annually.

 

Results Analysis and Reporting

From leading the world with online marking technologies that collect results at item-level, our Results Analysis and Reporting services collate the results for many assessment types and identify progress, trends, and individual student's strengths and weaknesses.

We produce learner reports and, for educators, provide reports and statistical analysis by class, by teacher, by school, by district, by state, and by subject.

 

Capability building and end-to-end test delivery

We work with Government and Government Agencies to ensure that all involved are gaining experience and capability through planned workshops and shared responsibilities in delivering reliable secure and timely assessments.

 

Pearson Test of English

We offer a range of English testing services approved by key industry bodies for a variety of purposes. The Pearson Test of English (PTE) is an English language test for international students; it is widely available and offers fast results. The test is recognised by over 95% of universities and colleges in the UK. PTE Academic is approved by the UK Border Agency for student visa applications when students are required to demonstrate English language competency.  PTE Academic measures your English ability by testing the applicant's level of English through tasks which reflect real-life settings. To find out more click here.
