Description

The CCNA Routing and Switching 200-125 Network Simulator is a single-user software package. It helps users develop and enhance hands-on configuration and troubleshooting skills without the investment in expensive lab hardware. This state of the art simulation software allows users to practice their networking skills with more than 400 structured labs designed to reinforce CCNA exam topics, including router and switch navigation and administration, Network Fundamentals, LAN Switching Technologies, Routing Technologies, WAN Technologies, Infrastructure Services, Infrastructure Security, and Infrastructure Management.

Users will experience realistic network device response as they work through each of the labs developed by best selling author and expert instructor Wendell Odom. The software comes complete with more than 400 structured labs, including skill building configuration exercises, configuration scenarios, complex troubleshooting scenarios, and subnetting exercises. All the labs are developed with the objective of gaining the hands-on skills necessary to successfully answer the simulation and scenario-based questions on the actual CCNA exam. Each lab includes detailed instructions, topology diagrams, full answers and complete explanations.

New to this edition

Adding 65 new labs and modifying 20 labs

Topics to add:

ICND1:

CDP and LLDP Configuration and Verification
DHCP Troubleshooting
RIP (Added Back)
IOS verification
Terminal Monitor
Update Route Selection labs for IPv4 and IPv6 to RIP

ICND2:

VTP (Added Back)
EIGRP and OSPF IPv6 route and metric tuning
IPv6 ACLs
EtherChannel (Negotiated)
SVI/MLS (This I didn't add to the sheet as it would require a new device type, It would be a useful additional but I am not sure if it is worth the effort; if so then I could add back about 9 different MLS labs that I originally wrote for Sim 2.0 and retask them for Sim 4.0)
GRE
PPPoE (This is another one that I didn't add to the sheet, the objectives list ONLY client side configuration; but to do this we would need to implement also the server side commands which are out of scope. It could be possible to implement both sets of command and have the server side me pre-configured on the load. This would add about another 10 commands a new interface type (dialer) as well as a new group type (bba) - Bottom line is I am not sure this is worth the effort either.)
eBGP
IP SLA
SPAN
STP BPDUguard
ROAS Troubleshooting

Topics removed

Frame Relay
GLBP
Netflow

Additional fixes:

Change the default password in the new simulator to something much shorter, like 'cs' for all labs.

Implement support for GigabitEthernet interfaces because most of the new routers don't even come with FastEthernet interfaces (unless it is a specific line card).

Fix certain continuous bugs for the primary release (like the constant bug with show mac address-table).
